Chapter Fifty-Three: The Stray Dog Was Wrongly Accused

As Chu Ye thought this through, he ran behind a big tree, hoping to catch the rabbit in one go.

But when Chu Ye ran behind the big tree, he was surprised to find that there was no sign of the rabbit. Not only was there no rabbit, but there were no other small animals either.

"Hey! What happened? Where did that rabbit go?" Chu Ye stood there observing carefully, trying to figure out where the rabbit had gone.

He watched for a while, and suddenly noticed a round hole in a small mound of earth not far away. It was about the same size as the jumping rabbit.

Chu Ye quickly ran to the entrance of the cave and put his nose inside to sniff. He immediately smelled the scent of a jumping rabbit.

"Damn it, you actually ran back into the cave. No wonder I couldn't see you."

Chu Ye now knew where the rabbit had run off to. It had gone back into its burrow.

"The rabbit has returned to its burrow; what can the lion do to it?"

Seeing the rabbit dart into its burrow, Chu Ye had no choice but to give up. After all, Chu Ye was larger than the rabbit, and he couldn't possibly squeeze into the burrow to catch it.

"Fine, you've gotten away with it today. Just don't let me see you again. If I do, I'll eat you alive." Chu Ye watched the rabbit run home, and he had no choice but to give up.

"Everyone go home, everyone find your mother. I'm going home to find my mother too!"

Chu Ye saw that the rabbits had gone home, and he wanted to go home too!

But after he had only taken a few steps, he heard another lion cub's roar.

This time, Chu Ye heard it clearly; it was indeed the lion cub's roar. Furthermore, he could feel the sound coming from above him.

Chu Ye looked up and was shocked, his eyes widening immediately.

"Holy crap, how come there's a little lion on that big tree?"

Chu Ye saw that on the lowest branch of the large tree was a lion cub standing there. The lion cub was roaring at him!

"How come this little lion can climb trees! I'm the only little lion here who can climb trees, okay? Now there's another little lion who can climb trees."

Chu Ye was initially puzzled by this. He had always felt that only he, the special little lion, could climb trees, while the other little lions couldn't.

But today, Chu Ye actually saw a little lion that could climb trees. How could this not make Chu Ye feel very strange!

"Could there be other prides of lions here?"

Chu Ye now realized that the seemingly impressive thing he had done before was actually a case of mistaken identity, resulting in the death of an innocent bystander. The wild dog wasn't the killer of the lion cub, but he had mistaken it for an assassin and killed one of the wild dogs.
